Is Human Design Helping or Hindering Your Growth?

In this episode of Expressed, we dive deep into a topic that’s been on my heart recently: the evolving relationship between Human Design and how it supports - or hinders - growth, purpose and God’s plan for us.

Human Design has been an incredibly supportive tool in my life and business, especially in the early days. What made it so impactful was not just learning about my design but applying it through consistent action. I saw my confidence grow as I moved forward.

But lately, I’ve noticed a shift. For some, Human Design is no longer a launchpad - it’s becoming a roadblock. Today, I’m breaking down the three main ways I see this happening and offering insights to help you move through these hurdles with clarity and faith.

1. Overcomplicating It
It’s easy to get caught up in the details of your chart, trying to understand every dot, line, and shape before taking action. But true growth comes from experimentation in real life.

  • As I shared in this episode, if you’re not seeing progress in yourself, your relationships, or your work, it might be time to pause the learning and start living your design.

  • A key takeaway? Even the most successful people I’ve studied don’t know their Human Design - they’re simply using their God-given gifts boldly and imperfectly.

2. Using It as an Excuse
Sometimes we use our design as a shield to avoid fear or discomfort. While it’s important to honour what feels correct, we also need to discern whether we’re genuinely resting or simply avoiding a breakthrough moment.

  • I shared a personal example of how I’ve sometimes used “resting” as a reason to delay action when fear was the real culprit.

3. Misunderstanding It
Misinterpretations like “Generators can’t have original ideas” or “Projectors can’t launch offers” create unnecessary limitations. God’s plan for us is bigger than our understanding of our chart, and it may not always fit neatly into our interpretation of Human Design.

  • In this episode, I shared how deepening my relationship with God has shifted how I apply my design. Now, I ask, “How would You have me use these gifts in this season?”

God First, Tools Second
I’ve reordered my priorities, placing God’s guidance above any framework or tool. Human Design remains an incredible lens, but it’s secondary to God’s plan. The clarity and confidence I’ve gained come from this divine alignment and I want to encourage you to lean into that too.

A Key Reminder
Human Design is a permission slip to see yourself as the unique creation you are—but it’s not the destination. Don’t let it become a hurdle to God’s plan. Use it to inspire action, not delay it.

Next Steps
If you feel stuck or like you’re learning a lot without taking action, this episode is your nudge to get curious about what’s holding you back. When we unkink the hose, our genius flows freely.

I’m so excited to bring new tools and approaches into my work next year, helping you clear those blocks and live into your full potential.

Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t and always remember: God’s plan for you is greater than anything you can imagine. Keep moving forward!
